Seeing Beauty: Mindful Photography in Natural Landscapes with Jess Petrie

Sat. 10 August 2024

£79.99

Join in an enchanting day of mindful exploration and creative vision amidst the breathtaking natural landscapes of Sheffield Manor Lodge. Led by the talented photographer Jess Petrie, this workshop invites you to connect deeply with nature through the lens of your camera.

Designed for your wellbeing this is a nature connection session where you will learn how to observe nature's beauty through mindful photography, without expectations, or judgement. This is a place for like-minded folk to come together to appreciate nature's gifts. This is going to be a small-ish, mixed in photography ability, group. There's no need for macro lenses or fancy equipment. I will show you how to use what you already have, even your phone camera! You will break for wild tea (home made and prepared by Jess), some goodies foraged along the way, and folklore stories.

What to expect:

  1. Mindfulness connection: Begin the day with a grounding mindfulness practice. Tune in to the present moment, allowing your senses to absorb the beauty around you.
  2. Exploring nature: Venture into the lush greenery of Sheffield Manor Lodge. Discover hidden pockets of beauty – from dew-kissed leaves to sun-dappled meadows.
  3. Photography techniques: Jess will guide you through essential photography techniques
  4. Manual mode: Learn how to master your camera settings for optimal creativity
  5. Composition: Understand the art of framing and storytelling within natural landscapes.
  6. Light and shadows: Capture the interplay of light and shadow in your images.
  7. Creative vision: Jess believes that photography is not just about technicalities; it’s about seeing with your heart. Explore your unique perspective and find beauty in the ordinary.
  8. Practical sessions: Put your newfound knowledge into practice. Wander through the woodlands, capture the dance of leaves, and frame the distant hills against the sky.
  9. Image review: After your outdoor adventure, you’ll gather to review your photographs. Jess will provide personalised feedback and tips to enhance your skills.
