The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

National Videogame Museum

Based in Sheffield city centre, the National Videogame Museum (NVM) showcases over a hundred games, and as our contributor Shehla writes: "it's much more than an arcade." It traces the evolution of videogames over time and even gives you the chance to create your own games. While it’s closed, the team are bringing the museum to you!

“Like many museums at his time, the NVM has closed its doors and we’ve started to provide educational materials online. To support this we are now running free weekly livestreams over on our YouTube channel; these are aimed at introducing young people and their families to free software and creative tools to start creating videogames at home. We've also endeavoured to bring our collection online too, with weekly livestreams on Twitch too!”

See the current activities from NVM's 'at home' series below to stay entertained and creative with your family during lockdown.
