A Future Fantastic

If we could create a better world, what would it look like? How do we go about making it?

This July, A Future Fantastic invites you to imagine, and start making, a world which looks closer to paradise than apocalypse.

Organised by theatre makers and philosophers The Bare Project, the festival centres on protest, performance and utopia-building. It forms part of the Ruskin in Sheffield 2019 programme, which explores the legacy of Victorian revolutionary John Ruskin's thinking on art and nature 200 years on from his birth.

Taking place at Theatre Deli, A Future Fantastic features theatre, installation, workshops, discussions and circus. It takes inspiration from Ruskin's utopian ambitions and his hopes for a society not built on profit and careless consumption but on meaningful work, an appreciation of the natural world and art, and happiness – ideas that seem pertinent to today's challenges of climate change and conflict.
