Travelling all the way from Los Angeles, author, poet and literary organiser Michelle Tea presents her new memoir, ironically named Against Memoir. She is known for her autobiographical works that explore queer culture, feminism, race, class and prostitution. Against Memoir is an exploration of America like no other. Tea expertly reveals the triumph and despair of queer life against the backdrop of “make America great again.” Collating Tea’s journalism for the first time, Against Memoir remembers the lives of lesbian motorbike gang HAGS, gives voice to activists at a trans protest camp, and spotlights a bunch of teenage goths.
