Since opening in 1971, this iconic building – all concrete, breeze block and glass – has hosted some of the region’s most memorable performances, including seasons dedicated to modern playwriting heavyweights like Harold Pinter, and, of course, lots of snooker. Join Sheffield Theatres staff for a peek behind the scenes at the inner workings of the Crucible and its Studio stage.
Tours start at 10:30am / 12:30pm / 1:30pm. Meet at the box office.
This event is part of the Sheffield Modern architecture weekender.
Sheffield Theatres are a registered charity and all money raised through these tours will go towards helping them engage young people in Sheffield. Studies show learning through arts and culture can improve pupil attainment in Maths and English. Over the next four years Sheffield Theatres aims to engage all 75,000 school-age children in Sheffield and empower the next generation.
