Becoming British is an exhibition, gathering and space for work centring immigrant narratives and experiences.
The exhibition features portraiture, erasure poetry, soundscapes and public workshops. It's curated by Lora Krasteva in collaboration with Bloc Projects and artists Aisha Seriki, Chris Cambell, Hassun El-Zafar and NikNak. Lora's experience of migration in six countries and her application for British citizenship led her to this project.
Throughout the exhibition there'll be a radio broadcast streaming the activity in the space and a series of interviews around the theme of Becoming British. You're welcome to contribute to the broadcast or tune in from anywhere in the world.
There'll also be a celebration and performances on Saturday 18 June, time TBC.
Bloc Projects is open Wednesday–Saturday 12–6pm.
