Suzu is a 17-year-old high school student who, for years, has only been a shadow of herself. One day, she enters U, the virtual world with over 5 billion online users. There, she is no longer Suzu but Belle, a soon to be world-famous singer. She meets with a mysterious creature and together, they embark on a journey of adventure, challenge and love, in their quest to become who they truly are.

Belle returns to the Showroom in June as part of their weeklong celebration of the director Mamoru Hosoda. Also showing as part of the celebration is Mirai.
