Organised by Brightbox, Breaking Ground is for anyone aged 15 to 25 wanting to work hands-on, gain useful experiences, be creative or get your voice heard about the things that matter.
Brightbox has BIG plans for its shared community allotment with its partner, PXI (Parson Cross Initiative), and they want to create a signature look and feel for the place. Being a community space, they want to involve everyone in the design process.
Join in the Signature Signage project with Brightbox Role Model Suzi Kemp, running every Saturday for six weeks (from 6th November to 11th December) at the PXI Community Allotments in Parson Cross.
Get involved with things like:
-
Learning from a local Sheffield artist or designer (one of Brightbox's Role Models)
-
Painting a big mural for the metal shed
-
Building and designing a 3D map of the allotment
-
Wayfinding signage
-
The grand entrance sign!
-
Being creative
-
Get 1:1 mentoring to get your CV future ready
Feeling unsure?
If you are feeling a bit nervous, Brightbox can set you up with a buddy who you can meet or chat to before the event. You can either arrive together or know you'll see familiar face when you get there. If you haven't been before and you're just wanting to see if its right for you rather than committing to the full 6-weeks, that's fine too! Sign-up and let Brightbox know.
