Experimental theatre company Forced Entertainment present Complete Works: Table Top Shakespeare, their audacious project to tell each of Shakespeare’s 36 plays in condensed form – with a single performer, a collection of household objects as stand-ins for characters, and a table top for a stage.
Originally conceived in 2015 and performed in theatre spaces across the world and in webcasts, Complete Works is now being restaged for an 'at home' edition, taking place over nine weeks from the performers' homes directly to yours.
Tune in for this comical, intimate and strangely compelling retelling of the Bard's comedies, tragedies, histories and late plays, bringing their stories to life in vivid miniature. As Forced Entertainment's artistic director Tim Etchells says: "Theatres might be closed but we know that performance can be anywhere, that an ordinary table top can be a huge stage fit for the biggest dramas and that there’s a potent mischief in the collision between high culture and the everyday."
All plays will be broadcast on the Forced Entertainment website at 8pm.
