Since 2013 the Sheffield-based social enterprise E.D.E.N. Film Productions have been running filmmaking workshops and events for the LGBTQ+ community, as well as organising the Transforming Cinema film festival. During lockdown they've launched E.D.E.N. Digital, an online filmmaking project for the LGBTQ+ community.
The theme of E.D.E.N. Digital is: how to make films about you and your work.
The aim of the course is to empower you with all the tools you will need to make a film about your story, business or project using just your phone, or whatever camera you have available.
The course will include:
- Fifteen 2-hour interactive online filmmaking workshops, covering storytelling techniques, sound recording, and editing.
- Online group discussions, production drop-ins and feedback sessions.
- 1-2-1 Zoom call for each participant to talk to the tutors about their film.
- Create a short film that will be premiered via an online community screening.
There will also be five online masterclasses about filmmaking with established filmmakers – details to come soon.
The online filmmaking project will be delivered by award-winning filmmaker Brett Chapman and E.D.E.N. Film Productions’ founder and CEO Claire Watkinson. All project activities are available for no cost and hosted via Zoom.
E.D.E.N. Digital launches Tuesday 16th February 2021, 7-9pm on Zoom. The course is for ages 18+ and places are limited.
