A welcome return to Sheffield Jazz for the sextet Hexagonal, whose exciting, high energy music with African and jazz influences makes for a joyous, uplifting live experience. Formed in 2016, their music pays tribute to the music of South African legend Bheki Mseleku and US jazz giant McCoy Tyner, by performing their compositions and the group's own, reflecting Mseleku’s lyricism and Tyner’s blues sensibility. John, Jason and Simon worked with these two titans of jazz piano and these associations bring an authenticity to the music and a strong influence on their original material.
“The band is impressively hip… with a variety of rich melodies, vibrant harmonies and infectious grooves” – London Jazz News
