Described as ‘the best lyricist working in the US today’ by Jarvis Cocker, Jeffrey Lewis is an anti-folk cult hero and comic book artist whose work has the ability to make you laugh, rile you up, cause you to cry and teach you new things.
The New York artist has been mixing contemplative folk narratives and distortion-fuelled garage rock since the late 90s. Whether he’s singing about the rise of communism, the history of The Fall, long bus journeys or narrating one of his trademark comic strips beamed from a projector, it is always captivating. Jeffrey will be releasing a new album this autumn – details are yet to be confirmed.
