Sheffield’s finger-picking folk troubadour Jim Ghedi is a folk artist of the highest order. The Sheffield native showcased his virtuoso guitar playing on his 2015 album, Home Is Where I Exist, Now To Live And Die, but it was last year’s, A Hymn For Ancient Land, that really grabbed people’s attention. Described by Folk Radio UK as a ‘small masterpiece’ and as ‘melodically sublime’ by MOJO, it’s a combination of lush orchestration, heartfelt soundscapes and sublime musicality all bound up by the forces of nature.
Catch Jim and his band in the beautiful surroundings of the Merlin Theatre in Nether Edge. Support comes from the mesmeric and haunting R.Loomes.
