The door opens, the door closes. Ross returns from his tedious office job just as Bibi leaves for another night behind the bar. This is being twenty-something in 2019: sharing a flat, a life, and a pessimistic outlook on the future with your best friend, but barely seeing each other. Make/Shift is a spoken word show discussing queerness, found family, and the socio-financial struggles of a generation that was promised the universe but gifted a broken world.
The theatre company will also be running a pay-what-you-decide workshop, Queering the Spoken Word, the following day, Saturday 27th April at 5:30pm. There you can learn about writing and performance skill with a specific focus on queer art.
