The folks from Jazz at The Lescar and Sheffield Jazz bring to Sheffield a brand new collaboration between a true legend of US and European jazz and two of the most exciting players on the UK scene.
US-born but for many years a resident in Amsterdam, Michael Moore is one of the most in-demand reeds players around. He's a bandleader and also a sideman for heavy-hitting names including Gerry Hemingway and Dave Douglas, and a key member of the renowned Instant Composers Pool Orchestra. This will be Michael Moore’s first visit in twenty years to the UK in a small group setting, and a long overdue chance to catch him in full, free and melodic flow.
He’ll be joined by bass player John Pope and drummer Johnny Hunter, creative and vibrant musicians and an ideal match for this music.
Anything could happen as these three expansive musical minds tackle original compositions in a highly charged programme of intuitive, spontaneous, vital and captivating music.
