It is colourful, dramatic and tells stories, it has pure simplicity and rugged texture; you can hold it in your hand or display it on the land but ultimately it is Only Clay.
Only Clay is a ceramics fair in the heart of Sheffield's industrial heritage.
50 selected potters, including local artist Penny Withers, will be selling their unique work at Kelham Island Museum at the weekend event. The diverse selection of work ranges from functional tableware to decorative vases and sculptural works.
In addition to the fair, Only Clay will present a solo exhibition of carved ceramic sculptures by Wendy Lawrence (pictured). Her work is described as "elemental" and "volcanic", with exaggerated textures and intense colours. Wendy will be present to talk about her work across the weekend.
There will also be an After Show Party at Yellow Arch Studios. Open to the public and exhibitors alike, come along for live music and plenty of opportunities to chat about ceramics!
Tickets available on the door.
