FELDMAN Music from the film Sculpture by Lipton (transcribed by Philip Thomas)
FELDMAN Piano Piece (to Philip Guston)
FELDMAN For Bunita Marcus
Hypnotic and endlessly fascinating, Morton Feldman's piano music is conceived on a huge scale yet unfolds almost like a whisper, using the most simple of ideas. It complements screenings of documentary films on two of the US’s greatest visual artists: Jackson Pollock (1951) and Willem de Kooning: The Painter (1964).
Presented in partnership with Another Timbre Records to launch Philip Thomas’s latest recording of Feldman’s works for solo piano, and Sensoria.
