After a year off, Sheffield Zine Fest returns for 2019, filling the Workstation with DIY stapled paper treats.
Often made with little more than some scissors, glue and a photocopier, zines are an incredibly democratic way of producing, circulating and consuming ideas. They've helped people on the margins make connections, allowed artists to reach an audience, and given uber fans of bands/books/films an outlet for their enthusiasm.
Organisers Bettie and Chella are taking applications for stalls until the end of March – apply now if you're keen to share your own self-published work with Sheffield. Expect a range of zine makers, as well as some crafting going on on the day. And once you've got your haul of handmade creations, head to Treehouse Board Game Cafe for the afterparty.
All hail the photocopier.
