Sheffield-based novelist, short story writer, journalist and DJ Désirée Reynolds has been studying the unsung histories of Black and marginalised Sheffield residents preserved by the Sheffield Archives. As part of her Writer in Residence role on the Take It To The Streets project, Désirée will bring to life hidden stories of centuries past and do them justice by exploring reparative justice and disseminating findings in several public spaces.
For this event, Désirée will be joined by archivist Cheryl Bailey and will reveal some of their fascinating discoveries to enrich our understanding of our local past.
A Sheffield Archives project supported by University of Sheffield.
