They say that to be a good writer, you must read widely. In this new monthly discussion group at the Writers Workshop, you'll be deep-diving into pieces by a variety of writers across different genres, analysing both the writers' craft and your response to it as a reader.
The first block of four sessions will focus on non-fiction writing:
- Session 1 (30 September) – Memoir and biography
- Session 2 (28 October) – Essays
- Session 3 (26 November) – Journalism
- Session 4 (16 December) – Narrative non-fiction
Short extracts will be circulated to attendees before each session, so do be prepared to do a small amount of advance reading to get the most out of each session. Ticket sales close one week before each session to allow all confirmed attendees time to read the material.
These workshops will be hosted by Writers Workshop associate and freelance editor Hannah Boursnell.
