Right in the centre of the city, Oisoi is a welcoming, warmly lit dining room brimming with super fresh and delicious options inspired by Korea, South East Asia and China.
Oisoi opened in St. Paul’s Place in September 2015, following years of careful research and planning in order to create a high quality, artisanal Asian food experience for Sheffielders. For owner Jay Wang, it's about the stories behind the food as much as the brilliant tastes they fill his customers' mouths with: "I really enjoyed researching all the products we have at Oisoi – I learnt so much about the stories and personalities behind each one. For instance, I met with Lady Pu Gwangsi who’s known as ‘Kimchi Mama’ simply because her kimchi is the best in Korea."
To help you make the most of what's on the menu, Oisoi's waiting staff are always willing to point out the tastiest treats. Go for some freshly steamed bao (buns) in all sorts of tasty flavours, or one of the "superfood starters" with ingredients like lotus root, yellow bean and black fungus. Favourites from the main course menu include the wok-fried seafood, Taiwanese vermicelli and Korean bibimbap (a rice-based one-bowl wonder) – all impeccably put together using the freshest food and flavours.
Make sure you leave room for dessert – the colourful, freshly prepared cakes are irresistible.
