The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

The legend that is Billy Bragg is performing a live stream concert for The Leadmill, as part of the Save Our Venues campaign.

At 8pm on Saturday 16th May, the singer-songwriter and political campaigner of over 30 years will be performing live from his Facebook page to support The Leadmill’s campaign to raise vital funds for both the Sheffield’s iconic venue and the Music Venue Trust Crisis Fund.

The MVT Crisis fund has been set up to help and ensure that all of the UK’s Grass Roots venues that closed on March 23rd are able to re-open when it is safe to do so. The Leadmill was planning on celebrating its 40th Birthday with a year long program of special events, but the Covid-19 crisis has now meant that it's using relationships built up over the past four decade to help raise funds for this vital cause for the development of future artists and the talented teams behind them.

Watch the live stream on Billy Bragg's Facebook page at 8pm on Saturday – or enjoy it below afterwards.
