The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

There's a new art trail on the city's rooftops. Hidden in plan sight, a series of digital artworks lie in wait for you to discover through your phone as you explore Sheffield.

Look Up brings together digital artworks from some of Sheffield's most exciting creative studios. Each artwork comes to life through augmented reality (AR) on your own phone screen using the special app. There's everything from a giant cat to a floating spaceship-like form.

The city council's Marketing Sheffield team made Look Up possible, working with Sheffield-based VR and AR specialists Megaverse and San Francisco tech company Niantic Labs (the team behind Pokemon Go) to create the app. Its launch artists are Universal Everything and Human Studio. More artworks and locations coming soon.

The locations and artworks:
Owen Building – Neon Pack by Human Studio
Sheffield Central Library & Graves Gallery – Hankong by Human Studio
Barkers Pool – Together by Universal Everything
The Diamond – Drift by Universal Everything
