Call for Artists: Join the Pride of Yorkshire

Free to submit

Artists across South Yorkshire are being invited to take part in the Pride of Yorkshire, a major new sculpture trail launching in summer 2026 in support of Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.

Following in the pawprints of the much-loved Bears of Sheffield, this ambitious project will see 150 large lion sculptures take over the region. The trail aims to raise vital funds for life-saving treatment and groundbreaking research at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

The organisers are looking for 75 artists to each design and paint two sculptures – a lion and a lioness. This is a paid opportunity open to emerging and established artists working in any medium. Creatives will be invited to work on their sculptures in a shared painting space in Sheffield from August 2025, with support from the project team and a community of fellow artists.

Your finished designs will be seen by thousands, featured in regional and national media, and form part of a lasting legacy supporting one of the UK’s most beloved children’s hospitals.

There’s just one month to go until the artist sign-up deadline – applications close Friday 25 July.
