The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

Open Up Artists’ Studios is a huge annual open studio event, showcasing creative talent in and around Sheffield for over 25 years.

Taking place over two weekends in spring, the free, volunteer-run event allows you to visit working studios, talk to the artists and makers and have the chance to buy original pieces of work. It features over a hundred artists and makers each year, working in a wide range of art forms – everything from watercolour, oil and acrylic painting to jewellery, ceramics, textiles, crafts, wood, glass, photography, printmaking, digital and mixed media.

Studios span the length and breadth of the city and beyond – as far apart as Barnsley and Mosborough and with many locations in between.

Check the Open Up website for updates.
