The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

Princess Mononoke

Our story follows Ashitaka, a warrior who protects his village from a demon-like-monster. In doing so, he is cursed and has to venture to the forests to the west.

He quickly finds himself caught in the middle of a war between humans, led by Lady Eboshi, and the forest, with Princess Mononoke.

This is a grand, sweeping adventure and remains Studio Ghibli's most epic story to date.

A bitter conflict between humans and nature, and featuring some of the studio's most iconic characters, this is by far some of writer and director Hayao Miyazaki's strongest work.

Now re-released in a brand new 4k restoration.
