Angel's Egg

Wed. 17 June 2026 — Sat. 20 June 2026

Set in a nameless, ravaged land, this story follows a young girl who carefully takes care of a large egg – a treasure that she believes, is an angel's egg.

She then encounters a young man who arrives in search of a bird he saw in a dream, and wishes to crack the egg open.

The two nameless strangers journey across a land of ruins and relics, as feelings of sympathy seemingly develop between the two.

Now recognized as a landmark work of animation, Angel's Egg is a creative collaboration between acclaimed director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell), and revered artist Yoshitaka Amano (Vampire Hunter D, Final Fantasy).
This groundbreaking collaboration between two anime legends is a hypnotic - and at times cryptic - collage of symbolism and philosophy, reflecting on existence with astounding imagery.

A crucially important film in anime history, this arrestingly beautiful hand-drawn fantasy is now presented in a new 4K restoration supervised by director Mamoru Oshii.
