The Sheffield culture guide written by in-the-know locals

Sheffield Music Trails took place for the first time in August 2021, bringing incredible lineups of free shows to music venues across the city. Now, it's returning even bigger for a second outing.

On 2 April 2022, Sheffield Music Trails promises a full day of free live music in a joint venture between 19 of our city's finest independent music venues. The festival will stretch from Castlegate through to Kelham Island, Abbeydale Road to Heeley and West Street down to Leadmill Road.

The programme for the day includes talent from South Yorkshire and beyond. There'll be indie-pop band Kawala, local singer Leona Nørskov (as seen on The Voice UK), garage punk two-piece Jeuce, Jonny Brown from indie band Twisted Wheel, and lots more.

As well as massive variety of acts, the aim for Sheffield Music Trails is to show some support for the region's culture and creativity, in recognition of the hardship the sector has faced in the past couple of years. It's all about celebrating the sights and sounds of your city, and the spaces that make Sheffield special.
