Cafe #9 is like nowhere else in the city, and is our idea of cafe perfection.
Somehow Cafe #9 managed to evade our attention for years, but we’re making up for lost time now: we can’t get enough of the place, with it’s wood lined interior, chess sets, ace music and warm cinnamon rolls.
Cafe #9 is a proper neighbourhood cafe – people tend to pitch up for a coffee and end up staying for hours chatting to old friends and new faces, getting lost in a book or a game of chess, tucking into a toastie and enjoying the tunes. It wins our best in show rosette for Sheffield's most laid back cafe, and that's no mean feat in our famously laid back city.
Look out for acoustic music nights in the intimate setting and the occasional film screening hosted by the likes of Andro and Eve. And in the meantime, take your pick from the piles of papers, pick up a copy of today's crossword, and escape from the world on the other side of the window for an hour or two.
