The Festival of Debate closes with a celebration of 100 years of (some) women’s right to vote in the UK.
Helen Pankhurst, the daughter of Sylvia Pankhurst and great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, will speak about her book Deeds not Words with Dr Kate Taylor-Jones from the University of Sheffield. The celebrations continue with poetry sets from Ted Hughes Award-winning Hollie McNish, Salena Godden and Verse Matters Collective, and music from Before Breakfast and Girl Gang DJs.
