Vogue-Chi is a movement practice incorporating principles of both Tai-Chi and Vogue/Ballroom –a spectrum of dance styles and theatrical formats inspired by fashion, consolidated during the 80s in New York by Black and Latinx LGBTQAI+ people. Vogue-Chi is a dynamic, self-affirming, meditative group practice that uses catwalking and voguing vocabulary, learning how to use energy via word reclamation and bending of social performativities, among other exercises. Vogue-Chi encourage its participants to find out other versions of themselves whilst exploring gender, unconventional beauty and shameless self indulgence in a loving and safe environment.
No previous experience is required, this session welcomes people of different ages, abilities and backgrounds.
