As a successful singer/songwriter and second-generation immigrant child of Jamaican parents, Steve Edwards was born and raised in the shadows of the now-disappearing, traditional industries of a working class, British northern city.
Hear a story of the hopes, dreams, sacrifice and courage of the people who were invited to leave their home, cross an ocean and come to Great Britain in the 1950s, to help rebuild the country from the rubble of the Second World War and to create a brighter future for themselves.
