Classical Sheffield are all delighted to take part in the 2024 Sheffield Showcase, bringing classical music, all too often in the centre of Sheffield, out into the community.
Recently-formed West Riding Ensemble has as one of its aims to take string-based chamber music of a high standard to many of Sheffield's venues. WRE collaborates with Sheffield Chamber Choir on a regular basis, and the choir will interlace with the instrumentalists: the two groups will come together in music by Schubert, Vivalidi, Haydn, and Handel.
Henry McNamara is a postgraduate student at the University of Sheffield earning his Master’s degree in Music Performance Studies with Dr. Sarah Watts.
A bass clarinet specialist, he seeks to forge new paths and promote new works for the instrument.
He previously studied at Arizona State University under Dr. Robert Spring and Dr. Joshua Gardner, graduating magna cum laude with a BMus in Clarinet Performance and a BS in Psychology.
When he isn’t working on his reeds he enjoys rock climbing, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and pun-ishing friends and family with bad jokes.
