Steve Bell is of course the award-winning, prolific and much-loved political cartoonist. He comes to Sheffield to discuss Corbyn: The Resurrection, his book of cartoons that reflects on the bizarre political events of recent years. As the title suggests, this collection of images focuses on the rapid rise of Labour’s leader and the political turmoil that followed his election both within his own party and on the wider political stage. This series of witty cartoons creates a hilarious account of Corbyn’s sudden popularity and – in several cases – unpopularity. Although zooming in on the Labour leader, the drawings also provide insight into several years of political upheaval in the UK.
This event is one of our Off the Shelf 2018 picks.
