Crack Cloud make music that lies somewhere in between the cracks of post-punk, art rock, no-wave, dance and probably a thousand other genres.
Formed in Calgary as the solo project of singer and drummer Zach Choy and keyboardist Ali Sharar as an outlet to distract them from their spiraling drug habits, Crack Cloud has developed into a multimedia collective that utilises the combined talents of various artists, filmmakers, musicians and designers. It’s a multi-headed monster unlike anything else around. Capable of producing moments of intense joy, fear and confusion, they are one of the most intense live acts around. Of their latest critically acclaimed album, Pitchfork said “ the strange beauty of Pain Olympics is that it fills your heart even as it’s kicking you in the kidneys.”
