Ruskin Mill Trust's Freeman College is based in the converted 19th-century Sterling and Butcher cutlery works. There, the trust runs a specialist therapeutic craft curriculum for young people with special educational needs and mental health disabilities, including Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Join some of the students as they lead tours and demonstrations at Freeman College for Heritage Open Days 2022.
Experience Sheffield’s industrial heritage on guided tours of the original grinding troughs. Get hands-on with child-friendly metalwork, weaving and felting workshops. And visit the on-side Fusion cafe for locally-sourced homemade refreshments.
