Half Man Half Biscuit have been writing their own brand of surrealist, sarcastic, sardonic rock songs since 1984, mixing humour and bleakness in equal measure.
Operating outside of the traditional music business channels, keeping their live shows to around six a year, they’ve built up a loyal, almost fanatic following over the years. A favourite of broadcaster John Peel, he once declared the band a "national treasure" and stated in 1997 that: "in a decently ordered society, members of Half Man Half Biscuit would be routinely carried shoulder high through the streets of every city they visited."
