Take part in the rare opportunity to experience Moroccan Gnawa dance in Sheffield. This workshop will be led by Nawarra, a world renowned Moroccan dancer and North African dance researcher.
Gnawa is a Moroccan music style known for its spiritual religious songs and rhythms. With a distinctive African heritage, Gnawa style is unique in its footsteps, krakeb (finger cymbals) sound, and the stories behind some of its moves. Immerse yourself in this style, discover the music and culture of Morocco, and learn about traditional instruments, costumes and sacred music rituals.
