Since their 2015 debut, Music in Exile, Mali’s Songhoy Blues have carved out a global presence, collaborating with the likes of Damon Albarn and Iggy Pop, gaining huge critical acclaim for their politically charged records and electrifying live performances.
Their fourth album, Heritage - the band’s first acoustic-led project, is a record that demonstrates the power and delicacy of their songwriting, utilising traditional Malian instruments and a re-imagining of the desert-rock style they’ve become synonymous with. The Guardian described it as “yet another impressive piece of work, full of spark and wonder.”
