Trumpeter, composer and producer Takuya Nakamura moves fluidly between jazz, jungle and electronic music. A former student of George Russell, he emerged from NYC’s 90s underground with Jojo Mayer’s Nerve and CocoRosie, later collaborating with Quincy Jones and David Byrne.
Bringing his album Pleasure Seekers to the UK for the first time, he’ll be reimagining the release as a visceral live show with electronic drummer Currency Audio. Expect trumpet, electronics and live drums to collide in a propulsive, rhythm-heavy set built on bold textures, improvisation and club-driven energy.
