Fagan's splits opinion down the middle. Some people find its slightly gruff character a put-off, but a quick half and a large plate of pie and chips soon makes up for it. Once settled, Fagan's is an undisturbed little spot, perfect for taking in the evening over a few scoops of Tetley's. Depending when you visit, your pint may be accompanied by live Traditional Irish music or a (pretty tough) quiz.
Down the side of the pub is a mural by artist Pete McKee. Few artists have found a muse in Sheffield quite like McKee, and this painting of an embrace between a woman with a blue rinse and a man in a flat cap is very much characteristic of his nostalgia-tinged work – and is the reason Fagan's is one of the stops on our street art pub crawl.
