Shakespeare's

Shakespeare's, 146-148 Gibraltar Street, S3 8UA

Open Sunday-Thursday 12pm-12am, Friday-Saturday 12pm-1am

Located at the mouth of the Kelham Island real ale mile, Shakespeare's is the area's slightly more youthful cousin. It tends to have a large selection of exciting imported beers on keg and some pretty wild bottles in stock.

An adventurous cask lineup makes Shakespeare's a worthwhile detour on the way to other CAMRA favourites like the Fat Cat and Kelham Island Tavern. Its fantastic exterior mural, meanwhile, earns it a spot on our street art pub crawl. Painted by Florence Blanchard, one of the two curators of the 2016 Feature Walls festival of street art, the bright, abstract piece pretty much covers one side of the pub, grabbing the attention of anyone stuck in traffic on the A61.
