Sandwiched between the student-packed terraces of Crookes and Broomhill, and the more self-contained, grown-up neighbourhoods of Stannington and Hillsborough, sit the suburbs of Walkley and Commonside. Basically, it’s where you end up when you reach the top of the hill that starts behind the Arts Tower. And one of the gems of the area is The Dram Shop.

For over thirty years this bottle shop on the corner has been full to the brim with excellent beers, wine and whiskies. Real ale fans might want to visit Hallamshire House and The Closed Shop while they're in the area too.
