Formed in California in 1976, by guitarist, primary songwriter and sole continuos member Greg Ginn, Black Flag are widely considered to be one of the first hardcore punk bands.
Known for their intense, aggressive style of music, their records focus on topics including authority, conformity, social paranoia and poverty. Black Flag were also one of the first bands to epitomise the DIY approach to making music and existing as a band.
Despite multiple line up changes, their legendary career has inspired thousands of other artists and they continue to be a major force in the world of punk music.
