Join C&G Artpartment for a day of painting fun at Crookes Valley Park.
C&G Artpartment are the Sheffield-based artists, community organisers and activists Clara Cheung and Gum Cheng. This event is part of their project Harcourt Road, exploring the stories of two roads of the same name in Sheffield and Hong Kong. Crookes Valley Park is in the vicinity of Harcourt Road. The artists will use this event to introduce the road to participants and passers-by.
Open to anyone who is curious about local stories, migration histories and enjoys painting (at all levels).
Bloc Projects and the artists will bring canvases, paints and brushes.
A few things to note:
- Meet for 1pm at the junction of Crookes Valley Road and Harcourt Road. One of the park entrances is there.
- Dress appropriately for the weather.
- Bring along some snacks and a bottle of water (some of the water will be used for mixing paints. The artists will bring the cups).
- If it rains the event may move to the nearby Weston Park Museum – participants will receive an email if there is a need to change the meeting point.
Supported by the School of East Asian Studies, University of Sheffield and Bloc Projects.
