Footprints Jazz Festival is back for 2026 with Corto Alto, Plantfood, Juliana Day and more.
On 31st January, 2026, Footprints invites Corto Alto to headline the yearly festival which saw Jasmine Myra last year and Franz Von the year before in that same spot in Sheffield.
Corto Alto is a Glaswegian-project ran by Liam Shortall, fusing electronic elements with live jazz and broken beat. The band were shortlisted for Album of the Year in the Mercury Awards last year and have absolutely blown up over the last couple of years winning a range of awards and have seen international acclaim.
Plantfood are Leeds-based on 6 piece jazz band that span hard hitting grooves and energy with influences all the way from spiritual jazz to contemporary dance music. The last time these guys played for Footprints at Foundry they absolutely roofed the place.
Juliana Day will be opening up the ceremony and we are absolutely delighted to have her on board. Juliana is a recorder player, whistle player, and vocalist based in Sheffield, UK, whose work spans performance, composition, and creative collaboration. Expect expansion soundscapes and deep-dives into textural improvisation on a range of wind, vocal and electronic explorations. She is also the co-founder of the Emergence Collective.
On the dials, we are joined by Nonna Fab, Kacper Pieta and Linga Sound for playing a range of deeper dance music.
