Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy an outdoor exhibition exploring the lives of some of the people buried in the cemetery. From 10.00am, the Samuel Worth Chapel will also be open, hosting an indoor exhibition showcasing the roles of grave diggers, sextons, stonemasons and chaplains, as well as more recent stories of local residents and volunteers.
Sweet Remembrance Tour, 1.00pm
Join Andrew Littlewood, author of Sweet Remembrance and dedicated volunteer, for a fascinating walk through Sheffield’s confectionery heritage. Discover the graves linked to pioneering sweet-makers and the people behind well-known names, and learn how their work helped shape the UK confectionery industry.
