The Paint Jam Weekender is the third of four Out & About events taking place in summer 2022, filling Sheffield's Cultural Industries Quarter (CIQ) with family-friendly activities.
Across the Saturday and Sunday, the Paint Jam will be an exciting showcase of live art and creativity in public spaces. Watch talented artists at work, head out on a street art tour, join in some hip-hop dancing, and lots more.

Both days –
- Paint Jam – 12–6pm, CIQ Square & Sidney + Matilda
See how different artists tackle a blank canvas from start to finish, as artists including Jim McElvaney, Grace Jandrell, Dan Cimmermann and Peachzz create artworks live. Accompanied by DJ collective Apricot Ballroom. - Liah Edwardes: Connecting Faces – 11am–6pm, Foodhall
Artist Liah Edwardes invites you to experience her installation, transforming the loading bay of Foodhall into an immersive environment made up of different approaches to drawing. Throughout the weekend, Liah will be on site doing live line portraits using some traditional and some less traditional techniques. - Hitting the Streets: Mural and Street Art Tours of the CIQ – 2–3pm, setting off from CIQ Square
Join Andy Carter, founder of Street Art Sheffield, on a tour of the area, taking in the new murals created for Out & About, hidden gems, and stories of artwork that used to reside in the CIQ. No booking required. - Communal Furniture – 11am–6pm, CIQ Square
Explore a new piece of adaptable furniture by the architecture and design studios McCloy + Muchemwa and Mitre & Mondays. - Shapes of the CIQ – all day
Pick up your free family trail by Our Favourite Places and head out to discover the shapes and stories of the area – and colour in along the way. - Radio Residency w/ Montez Press Radio – 12–4pm, venue to be confirmed
Broadcasting all weekend, experimental broadcasting platform Montez Press Radio will be bringing the the CIQ to life through music, chat and features responding to the idea of public art and the Paint Jam. - Murals across the CIQ – all day, various locations
