Grab your camera and join professional photographer and card-carrying urbanist Stephen Marland for a walk around the grounds of mid-regeneration 1960s Park Hill. Stephen has taught photography for around thirty years and also regularly writes about his interests in modernist architecture. The Le Corbusier-inspired, brutalist housing estate, with its famous concrete "streets in the sky", is Europe’s largest listed building. As you wander between and around the structures, Stephen will share tips on how to capture its shapes, textures, shadows and light.
As construction work is continuing on the site, the walk will remain in the publicly accessible areas of the grounds.
Meet outside South Street Kitchen for an 11am start (the cafe itself is closed on Sundays).
UPDATE!
Due to demand, Stephen will lead a second Photo Walk, setting off from outside South Street Kitchen at 1pm. Tickets will go on sale at midday on Monday 8th October.
This event is part of the Sheffield Modern architecture weekender.
