Portland Works is an incredible place – once the birthplace of stainless steel cutlery manufacturing, now owned by the community and run as a space for artists, craftspeople and small businesses.
Built in 1879, the historic former cutlery works is now grade 2* listed, with a team of volunteers working to preserve its heritage.
Head down to this fascinating site for its annual Open Day on 19th July 2025.
Meet the artists and makers in their studios, explore the building on a guided tour, and get creative at workshops. On top of that, there'll be demos, live music, stalls, cutlery sales, plus tea and cake.
